Frequently Asked Questions

What is Circles?

Circles is a platform that helps small groups of trusted individuals pool their capital together to invest in opportunities, support community members, and track shared financial activities transparently.

How do I create a circle?

After signing up, click "Create Circle" and give it a name. You'll automatically become the admin and can invite members using the invite code.

Is my money safe?

Yes. We use bank-level security, KYC verification, and work with trusted payment processors. All transactions are tracked transparently in your circle.

Can I use Circles for personal fundraising?

Absolutely! Many circles use Circles to raise money for community events, support members during life events, celebrate milestones, and more.

How do I contact support?

You can reach us at [email protected] for technical support, [email protected] for general inquiries, or use our contact form.

Is Circles a bank or financial institution?

No. Circles is a financial platform that facilitates peer-to-peer financial collaboration. We are NOT a bank, money transmitter, or licensed financial services provider. We use licensed partners like Stripe for payment processing and Plaid for bank account linking. We provide the platform tools; you make your own financial decisions.

How does insurance and annuity tracking work?

Circles allows you to track insurance policies and annuities that you purchase independently through licensed providers. We are NOT an insurance provider, broker, or advisor. We simply provide tools to track and manage policies that you've already purchased. You must purchase insurance/annuities through licensed providers and make your own informed decisions. Learn more about insurance tracking.

What are the fees?

Circles offers transparent pricing. We charge a small commission on successful deals (typically 2-5% depending on your tier). Payment processing fees are handled by our licensed partners (Stripe). There are no monthly fees for basic Circles. View our pricing page for detailed information.

How is my money protected?

We use bank-level security, encryption, and work with trusted payment processors (Stripe) that are licensed and regulated. All transactions are tracked transparently in your Circle with full audit trails. We also require KYC verification for all members. However, Circles is NOT FDIC insured (we're not a bank). Your Circle's funds are managed by your Circle members, not by us. Learn more about our security measures.

What happens if a member defaults or doesn't contribute?

Each Circle sets its own rules and governance. Circle admins can manage member roles, set contribution requirements, and handle disputes through the platform. We provide tools for governance, but each Circle is responsible for its own agreements and enforcement. We recommend having clear agreements among Circle members before starting.

How are disputes handled?

Circle admins can initiate dispute resolution through the platform. We provide tools to track disputes, document issues, and facilitate communication. However, Circles does not act as an arbitrator. Serious disputes should be resolved through your Circle's governance process or legal channels if necessary.

Do you provide investment advice?

No. Circles does NOT provide investment advice, financial advice, or recommendations. We provide platform tools to track and manage your Circle's financial activities. All investment decisions are made by your Circle members. We recommend consulting with licensed financial professionals for investment advice.

Can I use Circles for business investments?

Yes! Many Circles use the platform for business investments, real estate deals, startup funding, and other opportunities. However, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with securities laws and regulations. We recommend consulting with legal and financial professionals for business investments.
